Have you ever wondered why so many team members are required to maintain the average dental office? Why does such a small clinic seem like a huge enterprise? Like any organization, a dental clinic requires proper role distribution in order to stay organized and functioning optimally. Every worker is delegated specific tasks which fall under each one’s expertise. Each team member at Thomas Family Dentistry  maintains the highest levels of accreditation and pursues ongoing education to stay abreast of the latest trends in the dental field. Let’s take a look at the role of each member of the dental team.

Although Dr. Thomas is the leader of the dental team at Thomas Family Dentistry, he could never achieve his goal of improving the dental health of each patient without the full dedication of his entire staff. He and his registered dental assistant provide the restorative dental care such as fillings and crowns. Although each of our dental hygienists primary roles include oral health examinations, periodontal assessments, digital radiographic imaging, and cleanings, since their specialization is in hygiene, they primarily focus the most on your dental cleaning and all patient education.

Our front desk personel and office manager complete the clerical dimension of our dental office. The receptionist is usually the first person to greet each patient from behind the desk as you enter our dental office. Other responsibilites include managing the phone calls, taking your personal patient record information, setting appointments, reminding the clinical staff members about their schedules, and completing patient treatment transactions, especially payment receipts and filing insurance information. While many people think of the office manager as just another name for the receptionist, the manager's responsibilites encompass a far more overseeing role. Primarily, the office manager ensures that everything is functioning properly and the clinic is working optimally.

Now that you are more aware of the members of our dental office, don’t hesitate to say hello and give them a warm smile. Since patients are our highest priority at Thomas Family Dentistry, your continued cooperation, loyalty and friendliness as a patient makes the work of our dental team that much more enjoyable and fulfilling!
